Final Year Garment Collection Production + Fashion Portfolio:
Students produce final collections and final portfolios which are showcased at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
I was responsible for co-ordinating course, managing team and curriculum. I directed all textile applications and was Lead tutor on Final Collection Module.
Working across the full year on the development modules of the student’s final collections and final year portfolios
Students collaborate with industry on garment production/ textile applications.
Portfolio project in collaboration with NEXT sourcing, including critiques from industry professionals.
Final year students have also showcased at Graduate Fashion Week in London as part of the ‘International Catwalk’.






Heritage Craft Project: ‘I Want a Future’
Working with artisans from across the country, students tour Sri Lanka and it’s handicrafts and then select a craft of choice (weaving, lace-making, wax-painting) and develop their own samples, pushing the craft in new and dynamic ways.
Wrote & developed brief and all course content
Developed artisan/student collaboration project over five years.
Working with artisans from across Sri Lanka, students work with a chosen craft (lace, handloom, batik) Through visits to local textile centres and artisans, students are taught the processes of construction and techniques involved in production.
6week workshops for students to learn craft.
Work resolves into a capsule collection of 6 outfits designed and one fully manufactured ‘total look’.
Sportswear Industry Project
A ‘live project brief’ working with the commercial sportswear sector in Sri Lanka. Working with MAS sportswear, students design for brands produced in the country and design a capsule collection. Strongest designs are selected and put forward for manufacture and presentation at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Students design appropriate for the Industry and manufacture in Sri Lanka- NIKE, Lulu Lemon, Victoria’s Secret etc.
Top garments are then selected and manufactured by industry- MAS Intimates, MAS Active, Linea Aqua and showcased at MBFW.
Sustainable Jeans Project:
A project in collaboration with Hirdaramani- the main supplier of Levi’s denims in Sri Lanka. Students select a theme and a sustainable jean brand of choice. Designs are developed in creative process journals and students manufacture one chosen design using off-cut fabrics from industry, producing a portfolio alongside this.

Design Development Project- First Year
Lead module tutor on this module, the core design development project for first year students.
The design fundamentals are taught through a series of workshops and lectures.
Students are required to use their CPJ’s as a creative starting point for a womenswear and menswear capsule collection of 6 looks (each).
The collections must include an element of knit and print (texture and pattern) and denim
