Design Education in Sri Lanka.
Academy of Design (AOD) delivers BA (Hons) degrees from Northumbria University School of Design (UK), the globally recognised British university. For 5 years, I worked as Programme Leader of the fashion department directing the program’s vision and overseeing all modules and teaching. All courses at AOD follow Northumbria University module guidelines but are adapted to suit a South Asian context to align with regional requirements of the garment industry, as well as to adapt to the opportunities and resources within the country. All project briefs are written in-line with UK Higher Education Quality Guidelines each semester and approved by academic faculty at Northumbria University.
